Mattress retailer Rockaway Bedding, struggling in bankruptcy protection since April, has reached a deal to sell the entire chain to competitor Sleepy's for $12 million.
The Randolph-based business reached a deal with Sleepy's late Wednesday and filed papers in bankruptcy court today detailing the contract that still could be trumped at an auction. If it goes through, Sleepy's, based in Bethpage, N.Y., would acquire about 138 stores from Rockaway Bedding and the floundering chain's main warehouse, according to the contract.
