Something changed in Nashville while everyone was sleeping off their Thanksgiving dinner last Thursday –mattress retailer Mattresses Unlimited changed its name to Sleep Outfitters.
According to Sleep Outfitters owner and CEO Kim Knopf, the company changed the Mattresses Unlimited signs on Wednesday night, covered them up at each one of their ten Nashville-area stores, and then unveiled the new Sleep Outfitters signs first thing Friday morning, just in time for the Black Friday shopping frenzy.
Sleep Outfitters parent company, Innovative Mattress Solutions (IMS), purchased Mattresses Unlimited’s nine Nashville stores and seven Louisville stores in October of last year. Louisville stores had their name changed to Sleep Outfitters earlier this year to match the 14 existing Sleep Outfitters stores in that market.
